A studio only works when the room, the lighting, the cameras and the control room are planned together. Sound Krafted is a Lahore-based system integrator that designs, builds and commissions complete TV, broadcast, chroma (green screen), podcast and e-learning studios for broadcasters, government departments, universities and corporate media teams across Pakistan. We take one responsibility for the whole studio, from bare room to on-air.
Our clients include PTV, Radio Pakistan, HEC and leading universities such as UMT and BNU. We work with any brand of camera, lighting or switcher, so the equipment is chosen for your budget and your procurement rules, not to suit a supplier.
Short answer: A studio setup covers the room (isolation, acoustics, chroma), the lighting, the cameras and audio, and the control room, planned as one system. Sound Krafted builds TV, radio, chroma, podcast, e-learning and university media studios in Lahore and across Pakistan, from an empty room to a working studio, for broadcasters, government departments and universities.
What a turnkey studio setup includes
- Studio acoustics and soundproofing. Room-within-a-room isolation, soundproof doors, acoustic wall panels and acoustic ceilings so the microphones hear the presenter, not the traffic, generator or air conditioning.
- Chroma key and cyclorama. Seamless green or blue cyclorama walls with a curved floor joint, painted and lit for clean keying.
- Studio lighting and grid. Overhead lighting grid or pantographs, LED soft lights, key, fill and backlights, with DMX dimming and control.
- Cameras and production. Studio and PTZ cameras, teleprompters, live production switchers, graphics, recording and streaming.
- Audio. Lapel and studio microphones, mixers, talkback and studio monitors. For live shows and outside shoots, crews can also use our wireless intercom and tour guide system rental.
- Production control room (PCR/MCR). Technical furniture, monitor walls, patch bays, cabling and racks.
- Power, HVAC and ICT. Quiet air conditioning, clean power with UPS, network and storage for media files.

University media labs and campus studios
Universities now teach broadcast, film, podcasting and digital media, and many want a studio that also produces the university’s own content. A campus studio needs to be easy to run for staff who change each semester, durable for student use, and simple to expand. We plan it around the curriculum: a studio floor or chroma room, a control room students can learn on, edit suites, and a podcast or radio room. The UMT studios and BNU’s design lab and music studio are examples. For classrooms and lecture halls on the same campus, see schools and universities.
How we deliver a studio project
1. Site survey and requirement study
Our team visits the space, measures it, records background noise and discusses what you want to produce: news, talk shows, lectures, podcasts or live streams. We note ceiling height, power, air conditioning and access for cameras and sets.
2. Design and BOQ
We prepare the studio layout, acoustic design, lighting plot, camera positions, signal flow and a complete bill of quantities (BOQ). For government and public-sector buyers we can write the BOQ in tender format so it can go straight into your procurement documents.
3. Civil acoustics and interiors
Our team builds the isolation walls and ceilings, installs soundproof doors, acoustic panels, flooring and the cyclorama. This is where most studios fail, so we treat it as construction, not decoration.
4. Equipment supply, installation and integration
We supply, install, cable and configure cameras, lighting, audio, switchers and recording systems from the brands your project needs. Every cable is labelled and every signal path is documented.
5. Testing, training and handover
We check lighting levels and every signal path, arrange noise measurements, then train your technical staff and operators. You receive as-built drawings, manuals and a handover file. After-sales support continues after handover.
Why broadcasters and institutions choose Sound Krafted
- One contractor for the whole studio. Acoustics, interiors, lighting, AV and ICT under one team, so nothing falls between suppliers.
- Brand-neutral advice. As an independent system integrator, we work with any brand and recommend what fits the room and budget.
- Experience with public-sector buyers. We understand tenders, BOQs, inspections and the documentation government departments need.
- 50 projects for 49 organisations, including PTV, Radio Pakistan, HEC, the CM Office and the Punjab Council of the Arts.
- Local team in Lahore serving Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and the rest of Pakistan.
Common studio problems we fix
- Noise on recordings from air conditioning, generators, traffic or corridors. We isolate the room and fit quiet, low-velocity air conditioning ducts.
- Boomy or echoing audio because the room is untreated. We add absorption and bass control matched to the room size.
- Uneven chroma keying with shadows and green spill. We correct the cyclorama shape and the lighting.
- Heat and glare from old tungsten lights. We replace them with efficient, flicker-free LED fixtures.
- Messy, undocumented cabling that makes faults hard to find. We re-cable, label and document the signal flow.
Many institutions already own good cameras and microphones but get poor results because of the room. A survey shows whether you need a full rebuild or targeted upgrades, so your budget goes where it makes the most difference.
Studio setup cost factors
We do not publish studio price lists. These factors decide the budget:
| Factor | What changes the cost |
|---|---|
| Studio type | Podcast room, chroma studio, news set, multi-camera studio, radio on-air room |
| Room size and height | Grid height, cyclorama size, space for sets and cameras |
| Isolation level | Traffic, generators and AC noise around the room; room-within-a-room or targeted upgrades |
| Cameras and production | Number of cameras, PTZ or studio cameras, switcher, graphics, recording and streaming |
| Lighting | Grid or pantographs, number of LED fixtures, DMX control |
| Control room | Technical furniture, monitor wall, patching, racks, talkback |
| Power and cooling | Clean power and UPS, quiet low-velocity air conditioning |
| Existing equipment | What can be reused after testing |
Many institutions already own good cameras and microphones. A survey often shows that the room, not the equipment, is the problem, which changes where the budget should go.
Standards we work to
- EBU R 128 and ITU-R BS.1770: loudness for broadcast and online audio
- EBU Tech 3355 (TLCI): colour quality of LED studio lighting for cameras
- ISO 3382-2: reverberation in studios and control rooms
- Background-noise targets agreed per room at design stage

Frequently asked questions
Do you set up complete TV studios or only supply equipment?
We set up complete studios. That includes soundproofing, acoustic treatment, chroma walls, lighting, cameras, audio, control room furniture, cabling, testing and training. We can also supply equipment only if your team will install it.
Can you build a green screen (chroma) studio in an existing room?
Yes. We assess the room size and ceiling height, then build a seamless cyclorama, light it evenly for clean keying and treat the room acoustics so the audio is usable.
Which camera and lighting brands do you work with?
Any brand your project needs, including Sony, Panasonic, Ikegami, Blackmagic Design, Canon, ARRI and Aputure. As an independent system integrator, we recommend the best fit for the room and budget.
Can you prepare a BOQ or tender specification for our studio?
Yes. After the site survey we prepare a detailed BOQ and technical specification that government and corporate buyers can use in their procurement process.
Do you work outside Lahore?
Yes. We are based in Harbanspura, Lahore and deliver studio projects in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and across Pakistan.
How long does a studio setup take?
It depends on the building work. Equipment-only upgrades are quick; a studio with new isolation, a cyclorama and a control room takes longer because the room must be built and dried before equipment goes in. We give a programme with the BOQ.
Can a university studio also be used for live streaming?
Yes. We design the signal flow for recording, streaming and live production, so the same studio can teach students and stream events.
Do you set up podcast studios for companies and ministries?
Yes. A podcast or video studio for a communication team can be compact: a quiet, treated room, two to four cameras, good microphones and simple recording and streaming.
Can you upgrade an existing studio instead of rebuilding it?
Yes. We test what you have and propose targeted upgrades, such as treating the room, replacing old lighting with LED, or re-cabling and documenting the control room.
