Cinema Hall Soundproofing in Pakistan

The short answer

Cinema soundproofing keeps a film’s sound inside the screen and outside noise out, while acoustic treatment makes dialogue clear and bass even. Sound Krafted designs and installs isolation and treatment for commercial cinemas, screening rooms and home theatres in Lahore and across Pakistan.

A cinema is one of the hardest rooms to get right. Film soundtracks have deep, loud bass that passes through ordinary walls, and quiet scenes expose every hum from the air-conditioning. A good room does three things: it keeps sound in, keeps noise out, and lets the audience hear every word.

What makes a cinema hard to soundproof

  • Low-frequency sound. Bass passes through lightweight walls and ceilings far more easily than speech. Stopping it needs mass and decoupling, not foam.
  • Shared structure. In multiplexes and malls, screens share walls, slabs and ducts with each other and with shops.
  • Openings. Projection ports, doors, cable routes and air-conditioning ducts all carry sound.
  • Quiet scenes. Background noise from fans, chillers or the street is most noticeable when the film is quiet.
  • Hard finishes. Untreated walls and ceilings blur dialogue and create flutter echo.

Commercial cinemas, screening rooms and home theatres

Commercial cinemas and multiplexes need isolation between screens and from neighbouring units, plus quiet services. Screening and preview rooms in broadcasters, agencies and universities need accurate sound and good isolation in a smaller footprint. Home theatres in houses and farmhouses need the same principles at a smaller scale, often inside a finished house, so the work must be neat and well planned.

Planning a new cinema? Bring acoustics in early

The cheapest time to solve isolation is before the walls go up. If you are designing a new cinema or converting a floor in a mall or plaza, involve an acoustic consultant at the layout stage. Screen positions, wall build-ups, plant locations and duct routes can then be planned for quiet from the start, instead of being fixed later at much greater cost. We review architects' drawings and prepare an acoustic brief and BOQ through our acoustic consultancy service.

How we work

  1. Free phone consultation on +92 300 8467101 to discuss the building and the screens.
  2. Paid site survey of the structure, neighbours, services and noise sources.
  3. Design and BOQ for isolation, treatment and finishes, coordinated with the sound system and seating.
  4. Supply and installation by our team, including doors, ceilings and panels.
  5. Testing and handover, with a check against the agreed aim.

One team for room, sound and seating

Acoustics and sound are designed together. Our auditorium sound system service covers speakers and processing, and we also supply auditorium chairs with seating layouts. For performance halls we add stage lighting and truss. If the whole hall needs upgrading, see turnkey auditorium and hall renovation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our soundproofing and acoustic solutions.

Most leakage is low-frequency sound passing through shared walls, ceilings, projection ports and ducts. The fix is decoupled, heavy construction: double-stud walls, isolated ceilings, sealed doors with lobbies, and lined ducts. Panels inside the screen help the sound but do not stop leakage.

Yes. We usually build a room-within-a-room on resilient fixings, fit a sealed acoustic door and treat the interior. The survey checks the slab, walls and windows, so the design works with the house rather than against it.

No. Foam can tidy up reflections but does nothing for isolation and little for bass. Cinemas need broadband absorption, bass control and proper isolation.

We use lined ducts, attenuators, larger, slower diffusers and careful positions for indoor units, so cooling does not mask quiet dialogue.

Yes. We supply and install sound systems, seating, screens and lighting, so one team coordinates the whole room.
