An auditorium is judged in the first five minutes: can everyone hear clearly, see the stage and sit comfortably? Sound Krafted renovates and builds auditoriums, cinema halls, theatres, seminar halls and multipurpose halls as one turnkey contract. We handle acoustics, interiors, seating, sound, screens, lighting and stage, so your institution deals with one contractor from design to handover.

Our team has worked in acoustics since 2021, with 50 projects for 49 organisations. Hall projects include the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) turnkey auditorium, auditorium acoustic optimisation at Mukabbir University of Science & Technology and the Women Development Department’s multi-purpose hall in Lahore. We work with government departments, universities and corporate organisations across Pakistan.

Short answer: Auditorium renovation brings a hall’s acoustics, seating, sound, screens, lighting, stage and interiors up to standard under one contract. Sound Krafted delivers turnkey auditorium and hall projects for universities, government departments and corporate clients in Lahore and across Pakistan, starting with a survey and a BOQ with clear options.

What we cover in an auditorium renovation

  • Room acoustics. Acoustic wall panels, fluted timber cladding, diffusers and acoustic ceilings designed for clear speech and music. We control echo and reverberation (RT60) so the back row hears as well as the front.
  • Soundproofing. Isolation from traffic, generators and neighbouring rooms, plus soundproof doors and treated ducts.
  • Seating. Auditorium chairs, cinema recliners, VIP front-row sofas and stage furniture, laid out for sightlines and safe exits. See our auditorium chairs supplier page.
  • Sound system. Line arrays or column speakers, delay speakers, digital mixers, wireless microphones and amplifiers, tuned to the hall.
  • Screens and projection. SMD/LED video walls, projectors and screens, with switching for laptops, cameras and live feeds. More on SMD screens.
  • Stage and lighting. Stage platforms, rostrums, truss, stage lighting and architectural lighting with dimming. More on stage lighting and truss.
  • Interiors. Carpet, wooden flooring, false ceilings, wall finishes and signage.
  • Control room. AV rack, mixing position, recording and live streaming.

What good hall acoustics means

A hall sounds right when speech is clear in every seat and music is full without being muddy. Two measures describe this:

  • Reverberation time (RT60): how long sound lingers after it stops, measured to ISO 3382-1. Speech halls need a shorter time than music halls.
  • Speech Transmission Index (STI): how intelligible speech is through the room and the sound system, measured to IEC 60268-16.

We agree targets for both at design stage, based on the hall’s volume and use, and check them at handover where measurement is part of the scope. The reverberation time guide explains the numbers in plain language.

Halls we renovate and build

  1. Main auditoriums for universities, colleges and schools.
  2. Seminar and conference halls for ministries, departments and corporate offices.
  3. Darbar and ceremonial halls for government secretariats.
  4. Cinema halls and theatres for commercial and cultural venues.
  5. Multi-purpose halls for public-sector institutions and departments.
  6. Training and lecture theatres for academies and institutes.

Our turnkey process

Site survey and assessment

We visit the hall, measure it, test the existing acoustics and sound system, and study drawings, structure, power and air conditioning. We list what can be kept and what must be replaced.

Design and BOQ

We prepare a layout, seating plan, acoustic design, speaker coverage, screen size, lighting plot and 3D views where needed, with a complete BOQ. For public-sector projects we can frame the BOQ in tender wording such as “renovation and upgradation of auditorium” or “supply, installation, testing and commissioning”.

Execution

Our civil-acoustic team handles walls, ceilings, flooring and doors. Our AV team installs sound, screens, lighting and control. Work is planned in phases so the institution can keep running where possible.

Testing and handover

We tune the sound system to the room, check acoustics and lighting levels, train your staff and hand over as-built drawings, manuals and warranty documents.

Why institutions choose Sound Krafted for auditoriums

  • True turnkey. Acoustics, seating, AV, lighting and interiors in one contract with one point of responsibility.
  • Brand-neutral. As an independent system integrator, we work with any brand and select equipment for the hall, the budget and your procurement rules.
  • Public-sector experience. We are used to tenders, inspections, committees and formal handover.
  • Proven projects. Hall projects for PEF, Mukabbir University and the Women Development Department, plus conference rooms for the CM Office and Civil Secretariat.
  • Nationwide delivery. Based in Lahore, working in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and beyond.

Planning for safety, access and maintenance

A renovated hall must be safe and easy to run, not just good-looking. We plan:

  • Exits and aisles with clear widths, step lighting and signage, coordinated with the seating layout.
  • Accessibility, including wheelchair spaces, ramps to the stage where possible, and assistive listening for people with hearing loss.
  • Fire behaviour of materials. We select acoustic panels, fabrics and carpets with suitable fire performance for public buildings.
  • Cable routes and access panels so technicians can maintain speakers, projectors and lights without damaging finishes.
  • A simple control position so in-house staff can run everyday events without specialist operators.

These points are often missed when acoustics, seating and AV are bought from different suppliers. With one integrator, they are designed in from day one, and inspection and handover go smoothly.

Auditorium renovation cost factors

FactorWhat changes the cost
Hall volume and seat countTreatment area, speaker coverage, number of seats
Acoustic conditionEcho, flutter, noisy air-conditioning, outside noise
SeatingFixed auditorium chairs, VIP sofas, writing pads, retractable or tiered
Sound systemColumn or line-array speakers, delay speakers, microphones, mixer, DSP
ScreensProjector or LED wall, size and pixel pitch, switching
Stage and lightingStage extension, podium and furniture, lighting grid and fixtures
InteriorsFlooring, carpet, wall finishes, false ceiling, signage
Site conditionsWorking hours, access, events that must continue during works

Phasing is common: treat the acoustics and sound first, then seating and finishes in a later budget year. Our BOQ shows options so you can match scope to budget.

Order of works that avoids waste

  1. Survey and measurements.
  2. Acoustic design, with seating and speaker layout.
  3. Building work: walls, ceilings, doors, flooring.
  4. Seating, stage and furniture.
  5. Sound, screens and lighting installed and tuned to the finished room.
  6. Testing, training and handover.

Buying speakers before treating the room is the most expensive mistake in hall projects.

Frequently asked questions

Can you renovate our auditorium as a single turnkey contract?

Yes. We handle acoustics, soundproofing, seating, sound system, screens, stage, lighting and interiors under one contract, with one team responsible from design to handover.

Do you work on government and public-sector auditorium tenders?

Yes. We work with government departments, public bodies and public universities, and can prepare BOQs and technical specifications in tender format.

How do you fix echo in an existing hall?

We arrange reverberation measurements of the hall, then design the right mix of absorption, diffusion and ceiling treatment. After installation, measurements are repeated to confirm the improvement.

Can the hall stay in use during renovation?

Often yes. We plan the work in phases and schedule noisy work around your events where possible. We agree the plan at the start of the project.

Do you also supply auditorium chairs and LED screens?

Yes. Seating, SMD/LED screens, projectors, sound systems and stage lighting are all part of our auditorium scope.

Should we treat the acoustics before replacing the sound system?

Yes. A hall with strong echo will sound unclear even with an expensive system. Treating the room first often means fewer loudspeakers are needed and the result is clearer.

Can you renovate a historic hall?

Yes. We use reversible fixings, hide cabling and choose finishes that respect the building, as we did in heritage rooms at the Civil Secretariat and the Chief Minister’s Office in Lahore.

Do you prepare BOQs for public-sector auditorium tenders?

Yes. We frame BOQs in tender wording, such as “renovation and upgradation of auditorium” or “supply, installation, testing and commissioning”, and can review a department’s draft BOQ.
