Industrial Noise Control and Soundproofing in Pakistan

The short answer

Industrial noise control reduces the noise from generators, compressors, chillers and production machinery, both for the people working beside them and for neighbours. Sound Krafted surveys the source and the path, then designs and installs enclosures, barriers, silencers, wall and door upgrades and vibration isolation for facilities across Pakistan.

Noise in a plant is not only a comfort problem. Long exposure damages hearing, loud floors make instructions hard to hear, and noise at the boundary causes complaints from offices, homes and schools nearby. The right fix depends on where the noise comes from and how it travels, so we start with measurement, not with a product.

Industrial facility needing noise control

Source, path, receiver

Every noise problem has three parts, and the cheapest fix is usually as close to the source as possible.

PartQuestionTypical measures
SourceWhich machine makes the noise, and at what frequency?Acoustic enclosures, exhaust and intake silencers, anti-vibration mounts, maintenance
PathHow does the sound travel: air, structure or ducts?Barriers, wall and roof upgrades, acoustic doors and louvres, lined ducts
ReceiverWho hears it: operators, offices, neighbours?Quiet control rooms and refuges, office upgrades, hearing-protection zones

Common sources we deal with

  • Diesel and gas generators: acoustic canopies or enclosures, attenuated air paths and exhaust silencers
  • Chillers, cooling towers and rooftop plant: barriers, louvres and vibration isolation
  • Compressors, pumps and fans: enclosures, lagging and mounts
  • Production machinery: partial enclosures, screens and absorbent ceilings to cut the overall level on the floor
  • Plant rooms next to offices: wall, door and ceiling upgrades, and sealed service openings

Our soundproofing for plant rooms covers walls, doors and ventilation silencers where the plant sits inside a building.

Measuring before designing

We arrange sound-level measurements at the source, along the path and at the people or properties affected, at the times the problem occurs. ISO 9612 sets out how workplace noise exposure is measured. Where the concern is the boundary, we compare readings with the limits in the national or provincial environmental quality standards for the zone. These readings set a clear target for the design and let you check the result afterwards.

Protecting people on the floor

Provincial occupational safety and health laws, such as the Punjab Occupational Safety and Health Act 2019, require employers to manage workplace hazards, and noise is one of them. Technical controls at the source and path (quieter machines, enclosures and barriers) come before hearing protection in the usual order of control. We design those controls and show you the expected effect, so you can plan the rest of your noise programme.

How we work

  1. Free phone consultation on +92 300 8467101: the source, the complaint and photos.
  2. Paid site survey, with sound-level measurements arranged at source, path and receiver.
  3. Design and BOQ: measures ranked by benefit, with ventilation and maintenance access kept in mind.
  4. Supply and installation, planned around production and shutdowns.
  5. Testing and handover: with measurements arranged against the agreed target.

Keeping access and cooling

An enclosure that blocks noise but makes a generator overheat, or stops a technician reaching a valve, is not a solution. Our designs keep air paths, service access and fire safety in place, with removable panels and attenuated openings where needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Treat the generator first: an acoustic enclosure or canopy, attenuated air intake and outlet, a residential-grade exhaust silencer and anti-vibration mounts. If it still carries, add a barrier between the generator and the neighbours. The survey includes arranged measurements at their boundary, so the target is clear.

Yes. Measurements are arranged during normal operation, then install in stages or during planned shutdowns. Many measures, such as barriers and silencers, are fitted without stopping the machine.

An enclosure surrounds the machine and gives the biggest reduction, but needs ventilation and access. A barrier blocks the direct line between the source and the listener and is simpler, but gives a smaller reduction, especially at low frequencies.

Yes. Machines bolted directly to a slab can send vibration through the structure into offices or neighbouring buildings. Anti-vibration mounts, flexible connections and isolated bases cut this path.

Not if it is designed properly. We size attenuated air paths for the machine's cooling and keep removable panels for maintenance.
