Short answer: A site survey is a paid visit by a Sound Krafted acoustic specialist who surveys your space, arranges noise measurements, checks existing systems and discusses your needs. You then receive a proposal with layout, technical approach, BOQ and quotation. It starts with a free phone consultation on +92 300 8467101.
Many clients ask why we recommend a site survey before quoting. The reason is simple. Sound behaves differently in every room. A quote based on guesses is either too high, to cover risk, or too low, and then grows later. A survey replaces guesses with measurements.
Our team has worked in acoustics since 2021, with 50 projects for 49 organisations across Pakistan, from government departments and universities to broadcasters. We are based in Harbanspura, Lahore, and survey sites in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and other cities across Pakistan.
Step 1: free phone consultation
Call or WhatsApp +92 300 8467101. We discuss your project, what you want to achieve and whether a survey is needed. For some projects, a review of your drawings, BOQ or tender is enough. The phone consultation is free.
Step 2: the paid site survey
A member of our acoustics team visits at a time that suits you. The survey is paid, because it uses a specialist’s time on site, measurements and travel, and it produces findings specific to your project.
What we look at and what is measured
- room dimensions, shape and surfaces
- background noise levels from traffic, HVAC, generators and neighbours
- echo and reverberation, where relevant (ISO 3382)
- sound leaking between rooms, through doors, walls and ducts
- the condition of existing sound systems, cabling and power
- ceiling access, cable routes and mounting points
- site conditions such as working hours, security and heritage limits
We also listen. Who uses the space? What goes wrong today? What must the room do in five years’ time?
Step 3: design and quotation
After the survey, we prepare a proposal with:
- the layout and technical approach
- a BOQ that lists each item and quantity
- the price
- for tenders, a quotation in the required format
Step 4: presentation and revision
We walk you or your committee through the proposal and revise it to fit your budget and requirements. If you are planning a tender, we can also prepare the design and specification for it. See our acoustic consultancy service.
What to prepare before the survey
Having these ready makes the survey faster and the quote more accurate:
- The location and city of the project
- The type of space and how it will be used
- Approximate dimensions or seat count
- Drawings (PDF or DWG), photos or a short video
- Any BOQ or tender document
- Any brand or standard required by your procurement rules
- Your target timeline and, if known, the budget range
For government buildings, arrange security passes and a contact person in advance.
How long a survey takes
It depends on the size and number of spaces. A single meeting room is quicker than a large auditorium or a multi-storey building. We confirm the expected time on the phone consultation, so you can arrange access and the right people to meet us.
What a survey is not
- It is a technical visit. The specialist focuses on your space and its problems.
- It is not tied to one brand. Sound Krafted is an independent systems integrator. We source genuine equipment through verified channels and recommend brands on merit.
- It is not a commitment to order. You receive the proposal and decide.
When a survey is most useful
- Halls and auditoriums with echo or unclear speech
- Offices, boardrooms and council chambers with privacy problems
- Studios that need isolation from outside noise
- Masjids with feedback, echo or weak azan coverage
- Industrial sites with machine or generator noise
- Any tender where the BOQ must be accurate
