Most problems in halls, studios and meeting rooms are designed in before construction starts. Fixing them later costs far more. Sound Krafted’s acoustic and AV engineers help architects, consultants, government departments and corporate clients get it right from the start, with site surveys, noise measurement, acoustic and AV design, BOQs and tender specifications.

We are a Lahore-based system integrator with 31+ completed projects. Because we also build what we design, our advice is practical, buildable and priced realistically.

Consultancy services

  • Site surveys: measurement of the space, existing construction, services and constraints.
  • Noise measurement: background noise levels, noise from traffic, generators, air conditioning and neighbouring rooms.
  • Room acoustics design: reverberation (RT60) targets and treatment plans for auditoriums, studios, courtrooms, classrooms and meeting rooms.
  • Soundproofing design: wall, ceiling, floor and door build-ups to meet privacy or isolation targets.
  • AV system design: sound systems, conference systems, screens, lighting and control, with signal flow diagrams.
  • BOQ preparation: complete bills of quantities with item descriptions and quantities.
  • Tender specifications: technical specifications written in a brand-neutral, equivalent-allowed style for public procurement.
  • Design review: checking architect or consultant drawings and BOQs for acoustic and AV issues before tender.
  • Testing after completion: measuring results against the design targets.

Who we help

  1. Government departments and secretariats planning halls, committee rooms and media rooms.
  2. Defence and security institutions planning auditoriums, briefing rooms and control rooms.
  3. Universities and schools planning auditoriums, lecture halls and studios.
  4. Architects and engineering consultants who need acoustic and AV input on their designs.
  5. Corporate organisations planning headquarters, boardrooms and training centres.
  6. Broadcasters and media companies planning studios and control rooms.

Soundproofing vs acoustic treatment

We make this distinction clear in every design. Soundproofing keeps sound in or out of a space and is measured as sound reduction (STC). Acoustic treatment shapes the sound inside a room and is measured as absorption (NRC) and reverberation time (RT60). A design that confuses the two often wastes money on foam panels that do nothing for privacy.

How a consultancy project works

1. Brief

We discuss the project, its users and the budget range, and collect drawings.

2. Site survey and measurement

Our engineer visits, measures the space and noise levels, and photographs existing conditions.

3. Design report

We provide targets, recommended treatments, AV system concepts, drawings and options at different budgets.

4. BOQ and specification

We prepare a BOQ and technical specification that can go directly into your tender or construction documents.

5. Support during tender and construction

We can answer bidder queries, review submittals and, after completion, test the result.

Why choose Sound Krafted as your acoustic consultant

  • Designers who build: our recommendations are tested on real projects, not just on paper.
  • Brand-neutral specifications: as an independent system integrator, we write specifications that allow fair competition.
  • Public-sector familiarity: we understand tenders, committees and inspection requirements.
  • Proven clients: PTV, Radio Pakistan, HEC, FAO, GIZ, the CM Office, the Punjab Council of the Arts, NESPAK and ENGRO.
  • Based in Lahore, working across Pakistan.

When to bring in an acoustic consultant

The earlier we are involved, the more we can save you:

  • At concept stage, we advise on room shapes, ceiling heights and locations that avoid noise problems.
  • During design, we specify wall, ceiling and door build-ups and coordinate with the architect and MEP engineer.
  • Before tender, we review the BOQ and specification so bidders price the right scope.
  • During construction, we check that acoustic details are built correctly, because small gaps undo good design.
  • After handover, we measure results and help resolve any issues.

If the building already exists, we start with measurements and give you a clear list of improvements, ranked by impact and cost.

Our reports are written in plain language for decision-makers, with technical appendices for engineers. Each recommendation shows the expected improvement and an indicative scope, so committees can compare options and approve the right one with confidence.

Consultancy fees

Fees depend on project size and scope: a single site survey and report, a full design with BOQ, or support through tender and construction. Contact us with your project details for a proposal.

Frequently asked questions

What does an acoustic consultant do?

An acoustic consultant measures noise, sets targets for how a space should sound and designs the soundproofing and acoustic treatment to meet them. We also design the AV systems and prepare the BOQ.

Can you prepare a BOQ and specification for our tender?

Yes. We prepare BOQs and brand-neutral technical specifications that can go directly into government or corporate tender documents.

Do you review architects’ drawings?

Yes. We review drawings and BOQs for acoustic and AV issues before tender, when changes cost the least.

Do you measure noise levels on site?

Yes. We measure background and intrusive noise during the survey and, after completion, to confirm the design targets are met.
